A Seminar of Recovery of Burned Forest Soils will take place next March 5 at the DOMUS Scientific Museum, in A Coruña
The event will feature the participation of renowned speakers. Julio Fierro, Doctor in Agronomist Engineering and Senior Researcher CETIM Technological Center will open the day, making the presentation of the LIFE REFOREST project, will give way to Francisco Dans, Forestry Engineer and Director of the Forestry Association of Galicia, who will give his vision on the different problems and management solutions for forest areas with high fire risk and, later, Tomás Fernández-Couto, as General Director of Defense of the Mount of the Xunta de Galicia, will tell us about the challenges facing Galicia to solve erosion and soil loss problems due to fires.
The day will continue with the participation of Felipe Macías, Professor of Edaphology and Agricultural Chemistry at the University of Santiago de Compostela, who will expose the use of technosoils as a solution to erosion caused by fires, and finally, Cristina Fernández, PhD in Biology and Researcher at the Lourizán Forest Research Center, will explain the use of different stabilization and regeneration techniques for burned areas.
